Various visual patterns of erosion, decay and regrowth inform my work. I am inspired by the structure and formations of both urban and natural landscapes when defining individual texture and form. During the design process, I have introduced elements of imagined regrowth to create a sense of contrast within each piece.
My love for lapidary and fabrication have become the foundation for my body of work. I have been exploring stone cutting and texturing techniques, while constructing silver frameworks to cradle each piece.
The main elements are composed of semi-precious stones and mineral, the sense of re-growth is achieved through the use of natural materials such as fur, sea sponge and hair. Through the combination of these materials I hope to communicate an underlying concept of growth from decay.
